The Curio Science Team is focused on conducting and publishing research to forward the field of psychedelics, as well as behavioral health in general.
Purpose
Curio invites applicants who are academically trained who want to transition to industry for a postdoctoral fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Huberty, Fractional Chief Science Officer. The trainee will work with Curio Science establishing evidence for business priorities.‍
What you’ll do
The primary responsibility will be to help implement a randomized controlled trial, develop research questions and study design, analyze data for and write manuscripts and assist in grant writing. The trainee will also serve as a scientific writer and conduit to communicating scientific evidence to our customers (e.g., blogs, social media posts, newsletters) which includes keeping abreast of research and advancements in psychedelic science and developing story ideas and press releases.

The position is a one-year fellowship that may be renewed contingent on funding. The stipend is commensurate with experience. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis for a reserve pool. Applications in the reserve pool may then be reviewed in the order in which they were received until the position is filled.
Who you are
  • Earned doctorate or equivalent degree within the last two years in clinical psychology, behavior change, clinical science, social psychology or related field
  • Research interest aligned with one or some of the following: digital delivered care, mental health, therapy/coaching, health behavior change, complementary approaches to care, psychedelics 
  • Record of research experience appropriate for a postdoctoral position (e.g., working with others on NIH grants, leading implementation of research studies)
  • Strong academic writing skills (e.g., grants, manuscripts) as evidenced by peer-reviewed manuscripts
  • Strong ability to translate science for a lay public audience and be creative in releasing this information to our customers
  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative research methods
    • Knowledge of statistical tests and experience using SPSS, SAS, R, or similar software to conduct statistical analyses
  • Evidence of being self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible, team-oriented, creative, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to synthesize literature
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, EndNote, SPSS)
  • Ability to take guided initiative and to work in an organized fashion within a fast-paced environment, including flexibility in shifting between independent and collaborative work
  • Demonstrated collegiality, professionalism, and interpersonal skills
